Name: Diana Serra.

Hometown: Westerly.

Occupation: Educator/teacher. For 30 years I owned and taught at Westerly Preschool — "The Apple." These days I am teaching at Wheeler High School/Middle School in North Stonington.

Role on Westerly’s 350th committee: Co-chair of the Westerly 350th Committee.

Reason you joined the 350th committee: One thing I learned from 14 years on the Westerly Town Council and 10 years on the school committee is that Westerly’s spirit of volunteerism is legendary.  I was inspired to chair the Westerly 350 Committee because of my pride for this wonderful town, and for the opportunity to work alongside many wonderful and selfless people. It’s been a collaborative effort, a great learning experience, and a lot of fun.

Favorite new thing you've learned about Westerly: All the amazing information about the historical Babcock-Smith House Museum on 124 Granite Street and what a wonderful asset it is to our town.
