WESTERLY — Grey Sail Brewing, along with Whalers Brewing Company in South Kingstown, Foolproof in Pawtucket, The Guild in Pawtucket, Proclamation Ale Company in Warwick, and Newport Craft Brewing Co. in Newport, is teaming up with the Rhode Island Blood Center to encourage donations of blood during the summer months, a notoriously difficult time to ensure a steady blood supply.

During the month of August, all presenting donors at Rhode Island Blood Center’s six blood and platelet donation centers who are 21 or older can choose to receive a coupon for a free pint of beer. To encourage responsible drinking, coupons cannot be redeemed on the same day as the blood or platelet donation.

All presenting center donors in August will also be automatically entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets to see the New England Patriots home opener at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 8. Donors 16 years and older will be eligible for the Patriot’s ticket drawing.

The Rhode Island Blood Center in Westerly is located at 143 Franklin St., and is open Monday and Wednesday, 12:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. To schedule an appointment or for more information, visit ribc.org or call 401-223-3980.
