SHAKESPEARE IS BACK

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and head to Wilcox Park for an outdoor performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream." The Colonial Theatre production will run from Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The performance is free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person, $20 per family. SEAFOOD ... AND EAT IT

Sample and savor an assortment of gastronomic delights from Rhode Island's finest seafood, lobsters, steamers, chowder, fish & chips, lobster rolls, clam cakes, corn on the cob and raw bar selections this weekend at the Charlestown Seafood Festival. The festival will also feature arts and crafts vendors, Rockwell Amusement rides, rock wall climbing, car show, entertainment, bungee jumping and raffles. Fireworks will be the big attraction Saturday night at 9 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children age 10 and under. GLOW ON RIVER

Head to downtown Westerly-Pawcatuck Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. for the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce's annual River Glow featuring floating bonfires in the Pawcatuck River, live music, hay rides through town, fire jugglers and belly dancing as well as children’s activities and shopping specials.
