KEEP THE PEACE

Join members of the Westerly-Pawcatuck International City of Peace group Thursday at 6 p.m. for a showing, "The Ghost Army," as part of a month-long celebration of peace in Westerly. The Ghost Army was notable for using inflatable tanks, sound effects, and imagination to fool the Germans on the battlefields of Europe. The unsung heroes of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops and the 3133rd Signal Company Special saved thousands of lives and helped win the war, but their efforts were kept secret for fifty years and have yet to be officially recognized. The movie is free. For more information, visit westerlylibrary.org.
