Grab your pirate map and put your navigation skills to the test to find the secret loot at Mystic Seaport Museum's Pirate Days Treasure Hunt on Tuesday and Wednesday when pirate lads and lasses of all ages can enjoy games, crafts, and story time with pirates and a rousing performance of “Arr You Ready to be a Pirate” to learn fact vs. fiction in the age of piracy. A "High Seas" planetarium show will also be offered, along with the opportunity to take selfies with one of the museum's pirates, and watch a cannon firing. Free for members, $5 for non-members.


Dress the little ones in their party clothes and stroll over to Ocean House Saturday for the annual Children’s Easter Tea in the ballroom and enjoy a lovely, Alice in Wonderland-themed proper tea featuring an assortment of teas and finger sandwiches. The tea is from 3 to 5 p.m. $55 for adults, $35 for children and free for children 3 and younger. Visit to register. 


Gather at Misquamicut State Beach Sunday morning at 6 a.m. to witness the sun rise at an Easter Sunrise Service and the breaking of the Easter dawn at the ocean’s shore. This interactive service of songs, readings, reflections and prayers is an interfaith Christian Easter service which welcomes everyone. The morning message will be offered by the Rev. Take part in the traditional Easter Egg Roll & Hunt on Easter morning beginning at 10 a.m. and celebrate Easter with a variety of fun activities including The Egg Roll when children can roll eggs down the lawn with a wooden spoon over a finish line and receive a prize. All children will receive an Easter treat and there will even be an appearance by the Easter Bunny. $15 per person. Visit to register. 


Grab a flashlight, wear some purple and head to Misquamicut Saturday to join the Torchlight March community event in honor of the late Shawn Gooding beginning at 7 p.m. Meet at the Windjammer, 321 Atlantic Ave., for this free event. Visit for more information.

Join Margy Long and members of the League of Women Voters South County at Fresh Cup Café, 9 East Ave. in Westerly, on Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Long, the league membership chair, will host a meet and learn event to share information about voter registration drives, candidate forums during election years and other league activities. The event will take place again on Friday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon.
