PATS FOR PADDINGTON

Take the kids to the sea shore Tuesday night to see for Movies on the Beach, a summertime program from the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce. SUMMER BOOK WORMS

Add to your library this week at the The Friends of the Westerly Library Summer Book Sale from July 9 - 13, at the library, 44 Broad St., Westerly. The sale runs Tuesday from 3:30 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Tuesday, there is an entry fee of $15, free for Friends members, and free admission for all on Wednesday through Saturday. MOUNT CARMEL WEEKEND

Get ready for the annual celebration in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Triduum Masses begin Wednesday and continue Thursday, and Friday at 7 p.m. On Sunday, two masses will be celebrated, at 7 and 11 a.m. The festivities continue Saturday at the Italian Street Festival from noon to 9 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church on High Street and continue Sunday with the Our Lady of Mount Carmel procession, concert and fireworks 8 p.m. at Cimalore Field.

PURE ENCHANTMENT

The Jonnycake Center of Westerly will host its fourth biennial “Enchanting Gardens by the Sea” garden tour Saturday featuring nine local gardens in Shelter Harbor and Weekapaug on a go-at-your-own-pace tour. Proceeds support the center’s food pantry,social services operations and education programming. Tourists will receive a guidebook outlining the history and unique character of each garden.
