STONINGTON — A local woman is facing charges after police said she stabbed a man several times at a Stonington Road motel on Saturday night.
Cikizwa “Pamela” Nkonzombi, listed in police records as a resident of the motel at 812 Stonington Road, was taken into custody following the incident and charged with first-degree assault, threatening and breach of peace. She was held on a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in New London Superior Court Monday.
According to a police summary report, officers were called to the motel at 8:40 p.m. Saturday for reports of a stabbing. The victim, who has not been identified, was found in the bathroom of one of the guest rooms with multiple stabs wounds and serious injuries.
Police said the victim was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, but later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital for further treatment. Officials indicated he was in stable condition as of Sunday night.
Police said Nkonzombi was detained at the scene and later charged after detectives spoke with several witnesses and collected evidence. During the investigation, police determined Nkonzombi had also threatened another resident of the motel following the initial assault.
