STONINGTON — Officials called for a Life Star medical helicopter Wednesday to treat a man who suffered severe burns while working at the construction site of the Spruce Ridge apartment complex.

Emergency personnel was called around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday following reports of a man who suffered severe burns. After evaluating the injuries, Life Star was contacted and scheduled to land at Brookside Village to take the man to a Hartford-area hospital.

Further details of the incident were not available Wednesday afternoon.
