STONINGTON — Town Clerk Cynthia Ladwig reminds Stonington dog owners that dogs over 6 months old must be licensed for the 2019-20 year by June 30. Licenses are available at the town clerk’s office, 153 Elm St., Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Licenses may also be renewed by mail with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

The cost for a dog license is $8 for a spayed or neutered dog and $19 for a non-altered dog. After June 30, by state law, there will be a penalty charge of $1 per month for each month a dog over 6 months old is not licensed. By state law, dogs over 6 months old must be licensed every year.
