PAWCATUCK — The Maria Assunta Society will hold its 99th observances of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary beginning on Friday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. with a rosary and candlelight procession at St. Michael’s Church on Liberty Street. Afterward, refreshments will be served.

On Sunday, Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, on Main Street in Stonington. After the Mass, the procession will begin at 12:15 p.m., leaving from St. Michael's with the statue of Mary carried through the streets of Pawcatuck. Refreshments will be served upon the procession's return to the church.
