RICHMOND — The Rhode Island Tree Farm Program will conduct its annual fall tour at the Bryson Tree Farm, 66 Shannock Hill Road, on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 9 a.m.

The program will focus on the changes that have taken place in the woods of the farm since it experienced serious oak mortality and an additional 5-acre clearing was established. Paul Dolan and Chris Modisette, foresters from the Tree Farm Program, will highlight how enhanced diversity, through both planned and unplanned changes in the forest canopy, have altered conditions for birds and other wildlife.

The tour will include information on programs available through the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service and the state’s Farm, Forest, Open Space Program.

The event is free. Proper footwear and appropriate dress for the weather is required. For more information, call 401-568-3421 or visit ritreefarm.org.
