GROTON — City police have charged four people including a Westerly man with prostitution-related offenses following a sting at a local motel late last week.
The man, 59-year-old Mark Sullivan, of 89 East Ave., was charged with patronizing a prostitute, officials confirmed. A second man, 21-year-old Maryland resident Julian Niewiaroski, was also charged was charged with patronizing a prostitute, as well as possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers also charged 19-year-old Ryan Sealy, of Griswold, and 22-year-old Mackenzie Boudreau, 22, of Groton, with prostitution.
Police confirmed Sunday that the four were charged as part of an operation that was directed at locating and identifying victims of child exploitation and trafficking as well as those who profit off them. The effort was done in partnership with the FBI and other local agencies.
The investigation is still considered active.
