STONINGTON — A New York woman has been charged as a fugitive from justice and is expected to be extradited to Florida after she was arrested during a disturbance at a Mystic hotel on Sunday.
Stonington police responded to the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Mystic, located at 253 Greenmanville Ave., around 12:35 p.m. after officers responded for reports of a minor disturbance at the business.
During the investigation, officers learned that 41-year-old Jackeline Serrano, of Bronx, N.Y., was wanted in Florida on an charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. The police indicated that officials wanted to bring her back to the state to face the charge.
No charges were filed related to the disturbance, the police said, and no other arrests were made. Further details of Serrano's case, including why she was wanted in Florida, were not available.
