Two Lincoln men have been charged with various drug offenses after a Rhode Island State Police task force seized 219 marijuana plants, other controlled substances, and more than $12,000 in cash.
The men, Nathan Filion, 28, and William Lima, 29, were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in excess of 5 kilograms, possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, possession of psilocybin mushrooms with the intent to deliver, possession of butane honey oil with the intent to sell, and conspiracy to sell controlled substances. Filion is also facing three counts of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substances violation.
Both men were arraigned in Third Division Court on Tuesday and were ordered held without bond. They are due back before the court for a bail hearing on Aug. 27.
Rhode Island State Police said the lengthy investigation was conducted through its High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force. Officers obtained search warrants for Filion and Lima's homes and for a property on New River Road in Lincoln.
The police said they seized 219 mature marijuana plants, 20 pounds of ready-to-use marijuana, 6.7 kilograms of butane honey oil, 272 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, $12,340 in cash, marijuana packaging and equipment used for growing the plants.
The police also said they seized a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Sport rifle, a Glock 17 Gen4 9mm pistol and a Mauser HSc 7.65mm pistol from Filion as part of the investigation
