The Connecticut State Police have kicked off off their 2019 recruitment campaign with a particular focus on "women in policing." Ten women troopers took part in a workshop Wednesday at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden, presenting information on patrol and firearms training, K-9 handling and other topics.

The State Police are accepting applications for the position of trooper trainee through May 31. Anyone 21 years old or older with an interest in law enforcement is encouraged to apply. Candidates can apply by going to www.jobapscloud.com/CT. The recruitment website is www.beaconnecticuttrooper.com.
