The holiday season is in full swing at the Westerly Senior Center with this week being the last full week until the week of Jan. 6. Floor and table shuffleboard will be held this week and then restarting on Jan. 8. The center will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 so that our members and staff may enjoy the holidays. For other activities, check with your group leaders. However, bingo will be held on a regular schedule.

So that seniors may pick up last minute gifts, the van will be running to Warwick Mall on Monday at 9 a.m.

A representative from the Veterans Administration will be at the center this Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. to assist veterans and their dependents with paperwork and answer questions about benefits. This is a free service that has brought benefits to many of our local veterans. You do not have to be a member of the center to take advantage.

The Pawcatuck Valley Coin Club will be holding their Christmas dinner at the center on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Usually meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month and are open to those who are interested in joining or finding out what the club is about.

The auto club will also meet on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. To find out more about the club, contact Jim Varas in our woodshop.

The center's Board of Directors will meet on Thursday at 1:15 p.m. This is an opportunity for members to express comments or concerns.
