CHARLESTOWN — Visitors to the Burlingame State Park camping area can return to the water, the state Department Health recommended late Tuesday after bacteria counts returned to a safe level. The department had recommended closing the beach area Sunday following a rise in the bacteria counts, the second such recommendation this summer. The most up-to-date beach information is available through a recorded message on RIDOH's beaches telephone line, 401-222-2751, or by visiting the department's website at www.health.ri.gov.
