WESTERLY — The Jonnycake Center of Westerly will hold a six-week paid job training program for Rhode Island residents age 18 and older beginning Monday, July 29. Classes will be held at the Jonnycake Center, 23 Industrial Drive.

The program is the Westerly Regional Real Jobs Program, part of Real Jobs Rhode Island, which helps job seekers  upgrade their skills. It features training in soft skills, computer skills, résumé writing, and interviewing. Certifications in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ServSafe Alcohol, and ServSafe Food Handler are awarded. At the end of the training period, participants are placed in a paid internship at a local business. Candidates will emerge from the program with new certifications and improved skills.
