Buy your tickets today for Thursday’s big Turkey Day football game between the Westerly Bulldogs and Stonington Bears. Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for students and $5 the day of the game. They are available at the Westerly High School main office through Wednesday.


Join members of Christ Episcopal Church Thursday for a free Thanksgiving Community Dinner, open to all looking for fellowship and a delicious meal. The dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. at the church, 7 Elm St., Westerly. Take out and home delivery available for area residents unable to make it to the church. Bring the kids downtown Friday to watch Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a host of other North Pole friends, arrive via fire trucks at 6 p.m. Santa will be joined by the Winter Lady and other holiday characters to ring in the holiday season. In the case of inclement weather, Santa and friends will make their grand arrival at The Westerly Armory. Children will receive free coloring books, crayons and treats. Join your friends dowtown Saturday evening to celebrate the lighting of a magificent holiday tree when the Westerly Library & Wilcox Park holds the annual Tree Lighting at 4 p.m. on the esplanade next to the library. Listen to a live recitation of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” and join members of the Chorus of Westerly in carol singing. Visit for more information


Travel to Watch Hill Saturday at 4 p.m. for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Ocean House and welcome Santa Claus when he arrives via fire truck to help light the tree. Snacks and beverages will be available, as well as a Christmas Market. The event is free with attendees invited to bring an unwrapped toy for the Ocean House’s toy drive. Head to Mystic Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to see Santa arrive on the Tugboat John Paul. Children will be able to share their wish lists with Santa in Mystic River Park. The event is free. Later in the evening, from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m., The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce will hold the annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade and tree lighting in the Mystic River Park.
