Join Grammy-winner Bill Pere at the annual LUNCH Holiday Show Saturday at 7 p.m. at Union Baptist Church,119 High St., Mystic. The show, written by Pere, features a light-hearted take on pop culture laced with songs of the season and original Christmas music. The show is an outreach of Local United Network to Combat Hunger, featuring professional artists including Pere, Kay Pere and Larry Batter, joined by a cast of 20 students from several area schools from Westerly to Waterford. Tickets are $10 for adults or $8 children under age 12 in advance, or $12 for adults and $10 for children under age 12 on the day of the show. Hear members of the Westminster Youth String Ensemble, the Westerly Band and adult string players from the community for popular annual Holiday Concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Westerly Armory, 41 Railroad Ave., Westerly. The concert will feature the works of Mozart, Telemann and holiday favorites. Admission is $10 and free for children. Start the season with an age old tradition by attending the Festival of Lessons and Chorals for Advent Sunday at 5 p.m. at Christ Church, 7 Elm St., Westerly. The service will feature choral music by the Christ Church Choir under the direction of organist and choirmaster George Kent, the singing of Advent carols, and the customary readings of the Advent lessons foretelling the coming of the Christ child. The event is free.


Watch Santa arrive by fire truck in North Stonington Sunday at 6:15 p.m., during the annual holiday tree lighting and carol sing on the Village Green. The Wheeler High School Chorus and Band will perform in Hewitt Hall.
