PAWCATUCK — The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center has received a $1,500 grant from the Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation to help prevent homelessness. The grant was one of 16 the foundation awarded to Connecticut organizations dedicated to health care and social services, and can be used for mortgage or rental assistance, and for security deposits.

“The foundation is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of all members of the communities we serve. We’re happy to help these vital organizations carry out their missions to help people live healthier, more prosperous lives,” said Kevin Merchant, president and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank.

The bank has a new branch in Pawcatuck.
