PROVIDENCE (AP) — Ocean State Job Lot stores will open at former Benny's locations in Cranston, Warwick and Wakefield, according to The Carpionato Group, which bought the former Benny's buildings after the retail chain shut down in 2017.

Ocean State Job Lot will relocate existing stores in Warwick and Wakefield into the new bigger spaces in those communities. The Cranston space will give Ocean State Job Lot two stores in the city. Johnston-based Carpionato said the three buildings will be upgraded.

Benny's, which also had stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut, closed all of its 31 stores in 2017. Ocean State Job Lot, headquartered in North Kingstown, has 133 stores across New England, New York, and New Jersey.
