JEWETT CITY — Kevin Merchant, president and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank, has announced the hiring of John W. Couillard as assistant vice president, business loan officer. Couillard will be responsible for business development in the southeastern Connecticut region, as well as Rhode Island, and will have a permanent office in the bank’s Pawcatuck office.

Couillard has more than two decades of experience in business banking. He previously worked as a business development associate for PNC Business Credit in Glastonbury and as a commercial loan officer for Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Bryant University and an associate’s degree from Mitchell College.

Couillard is also an active member of the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce and the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

The mutual savings bank has full-service offices in Jewett City, Brooklyn, Dayville, Pawcatuck, Plainfield, and Preston, and online banking services at JCSBank.com.
