WESTERLY — Westerly Education Center has scheduled an education and job fair for Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. for anyone seeking employment, job training, college courses, or social services.

Representatives from area businesses who are hiring and colleges who are enrolling for the fall will be on hand for the fair at the center, 23 Friendship St. Registration for job training will also be conducted.

More than 22 exhibitors will be present to discuss career and educational options. They include: Amgen, the Civil Air Patrol, Community College of Rhode Island, Education Exchange, General Dynamics Electric Boat, HealthCentric Advisors, Jonnycake Center of Westerly, NRI Career Academy, Rhode Island Army National Guard, Rhode Island College, the state Department of Human Services, state Office of Veterans Affairs, Rhode Island School of Design Continuing Education, Skills for Rhode Island’s Future, Thielsch Engineering, Toray Plastics, Tri-County Community Action Agency, theh University of Rhode Island, Veterans Inc., Westerly Hospital, Westerly Library, and Westerly School Department.

The center is helping its partners find applicants for fall programming, which includes education on all levels, credit-bearing and non-credit, from GED to graduate-level certificate programs and placement in free job training such as certified nursing assistants, process technology, call center/banking/customer service, and more.

Some employers are hiring outright and for individuals considering military careers, recruiters from Rhode Island Army National Guard will present information about jobs and training. Numerous agencies will advise on services available to veterans, in particular, and the general public.

Preregistration is not required.
