Smith’s Castle - Docents: Give tours of the 1678 structure, educating the public about the history of Smith’s Castle. Docents will commit to two 4-hour shifts per month during season (May to mid-October). Training provided beginning April 3.

Tomaquag Museum in Exeter - Archives Volunteers: receive training on how to preserve, maintain and archive collections for the Tomaquag Museum. Museum cleaning. Painting- completing painting of guest bathroom and museum staircase. Data entry. Education staff assistant: Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. to assist museum educator with setup, running and cleanup of weekly Children’s Hour. Winterization- outdoor cleanup, storing things for winter, covering windows with plastic.
Town of Charlestown Senior/Community Center - Substitute Drivers for Meals on Wheels. Kitchen Aide volunteers Mondays to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., as needed.
Town of Westerly Animal Shelter - Front Desk Volunteer: assist guests, direct guests and answer questions. Animal Assistant Volunteers: clean feeding bowls and linens, plus play with their pets up for adoption.
WARM Center of Westerly - Soup kitchen volunteers; Group meal providers: teams of employees, civic organizations, churches, schools, or families and friends that join together to provide a meal.
Westerly Land Trust - Hike leaders for weekly senior hiking group and hike co-leaders for all age hikes throughout the fall.

Beacon Hospice in North Kingstown is seeking local volunteers to visit our hospice patients in the Westerly area. You can help improve the quality of life for patients and caregivers by offering companionship, playing music, reading to the patient and providing caregiver respite.
