Westerly Sun Podcast

You’re listening to the Westerly Sun’s podcast, where we talk about the best local events, new job postings, obituaries, and more.

First, a bit of Rhode Island history. Today’s history update is brought to you by Perennial.

Perennial’s new plant-based drink “Daily Gut & Brain” is a blend of easily digestible nutrients crafted for gut and brain health. A convenient mini-meal, Daily Gut & Brain” is available now at the CVS Pharmacy in Wakefield.

Now for some history. Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island, was known for his advocacy for religious freedom, but did you know that his beliefs were actually the inspiration of the First Amendment? In fact, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams publicly acknowledged Roger Williams as the originator of the concepts and principles reflected in The First Amendment! Things like freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of public assembly.

It’s important to remember that we’re tiny and mighty, so don’t forget to tune in tomorrow for another bit of Rhode Island history.

Now for some events.

The virtual event of the summer is here! Tomorrowland's online festival, ”Tomorrowland Around the World” is starting this weekend on the 25th. Katy Perry is headlining, and more than 60 other artists will participate. You can visit tomorrowland.com for tickets and more information.

Are you interested in a new opportunity? Look no further, we’re here again with another new job listing. Today’s posting comes from General And Cosmetic Dentistry in Westerly. Today we’re remembering the life of Robert D. Morgan. A true patriot, Robert proudly served as a combat Medic in the US Army during WWII. Bob loved the Lord and was an active member of the Carolina Free Baptist Church. He was also able to repair just about anything. He would sing for the Lord at church and also could be heard singing in his workshop. He is survived by his loving wife Janet, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Thank you for taking a moment with us to remember and celebrate Robert’s life.

That’s it for today, we’ll be back next time with more! Also, remember to check out our sponsor Perennial, Daily Gut & Brain, available at the CVS on Main St. in Wakefield!
