MYSTIC — The New London Connecticut Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints received new leadership at a conference of the church held in Mystic. Evan Haglund of Quaker Hill was sustained as president of the New London Stake with Stuart Campbell of Madison to serve as first counselor and Aaron Parson of Pawcatuck to serve as second counselor.

Together, the newly organized presidency will guide approximately 2500 members of the church living in congregations from Madison to Westerly and north to the Massachusetts border. There is no paid clergy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leaders and members of the church alike serve voluntarily and continue in their chosen professions throughout the duration of their service.
