RIGHT NOW I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF: The transformation and revitalization of the Knickerbocker Café into the Knickerbocker Music Center — with the help of many friends and in association with the United Theater and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School.

I ENJOY SPENDING MY TIME: With family, listening to music, sailing and going for long walks.

MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: My children and grandchildren.

I'D LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED FOR: Being a nice guy and not taking life too seriously.

TOP ITEM ON MY BUCKET LIST: Traveling to parts of the world I have yet to see.

WHAT I WANTED TO BE WHEN I GREW UP: I had no idea. At first I thought I'd go to law school, until I interned at a legal aid society. I went into the restaurant business, owning and managing restaurants in the Mystic area until I came to the Knick.

MY HERO IS: Barack Obama.

FAVORITE AUTHORS: James Lee Burke, Anne Rice.

BOOKS ON MY NIGHT STAND: "The Accidental Tourist," by Anne Tyler and "Waging Heavy Peace," by Neil young.

I AM LISTENING TO: Neil Young, Jonah Smith, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, the Mallett Bros band and the amazing musicians who play at the Knick.

FAVORITE MOVIE: "My Cousin Vinny."

LAST MOVIE WATCHED: "Rocketman."

FAVORITE RADIO SHOW: "Ted Radio Hour" and "Car Talk."
