RIGHT NOW I’M IN THE MIDDLE OF: Promoting all the great things the Jonnycake Center does for folks in Westerly, Charlestown, Richmond and Hopkinton.

I ENJOY SPENDING MY TIME: Volunteering and Working.

MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: I wish I could say my three awesome kids, Anne, Klara and Sebastian, but that was a team effort. Maybe graduating summa cum laude from law school as a middle-aged immigrant? Wait, that was a team effort, too.

TOP ON MY BUCKET LIST: Having a job that brings me back and forth between here and Germany.

WHAT I WANTED TO BE WHEN I GREW UP: A nurse.

PEOPLE WHO HAVE MOST INFLUENCED ME: Definitely my parents, Margot and Edzard Lübben. They were children during World War II and their tales of horror, survival, and compassion shaped me.

MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT OUR LITTLE CORNER OF THE WORLD: The beaches off season and everything about downtown.

CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Something to do.

LITTLE KNOWN FACT ABOUT ME: I worked as a costume designer for a local theater as a young adult. It was a constant struggle of sew and sob. I have never been under so much pressure. I quit after two seasons.

BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED: It’s actually a commercial: Just do it.

ADVICE I BEST LIKE TO GIVE: If you don’t know what to do, do something!

IF I RULED THE WORLD I WOULD: Be overwhelmed.

IF I WON THE LOTTERY, THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS: Create an affordable housing co-op in Westerly.

I DRIVE AN: Orange 2009 Toyota Matrix

I WISH I DROVE A: Red 1988 Citroen 2CV, my first car.

ALWAYS IN MY FRIDGE: Whole milk, I can’t drink my coffee black.

IF I COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE FROM THE PAST, PRESENT OR FUTURE, I WOULD INVITE: Michelle and Barack Obama and Deborah and Chuck Royce. I am always curious what motivates people.
