at the waterfront estate of Deborah and Peter Lamm

The sixth annual “Books on the Beach” fundraiser was held on a perfect summer evening at the waterfront estate of Deborah and Peter Lamm, and was a great success for Opening Doors for Westerly’s Children. Opening Doors is a Westerly-based nonprofit 501c3 organization that provides sponsorships for children enrolled in the summer learning program at Tower Street School, a fundamental element of the organization’s mission statement of promoting early childhood literacy and academic achievement for local children. Each school year, Opening Doors for Westerly’s Children distributes brand new books and backpacks full of school supplies to low-income children in Westerly’s public elementary schools while providing opportunities to support academically-related programs and initiatives.
