Solar program

More than 30 residents of the Town of Richmond’s Beaver River Valley Community Association members and their guests, gathered to learn about solar energy policy recently from Scott Millar, pictured, GrowSmart Rhode Island’s director of community association and conservation.

The Beaver River Valley Community Association is a nonprofit organization working to protect the rural and scenic character of the Beaver River Valley in Richmond. The association brought residents together to learn more about state solar energy policies and how they could impact local communities.

“Ground zero for solar is at the local level,” said Millar, reiterating the need for effective municipal solar regulations.
