Dan Potts, center, was named Teacher of the Year by Hope Valley Grange recently when the grange held its annual Community Service Award Night. Potts has been a seventh and eighth grade Chariho Middle School science teacher since 1993. He has won multiple teaching awards and was honored at the White House. In 1996, Dan created a community garden, where he works with students all summer and has donated roughly 1,000 pounds of food to local homeless shelters and RICAN.
