Western New England University student Carter White, son of Grace and Stephen White, of Westerly, was one of 10 university business students who spent part of their winter session in Australia, the first cohort to participate in a "J-Term" program of academic study and cultural experiences. The students arrived in Sydney in time to take in the New Year's celebrations, including the spectacular fireworks atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge. They returned to Springfield for the start of the spring semester. Shown from left, with the iconic Sydney Opera House in the backdrop, are students Megan Dzen, Rachael Donahue, Josh Henry, Stephanie Grosse, Carter White, Ben Edwards, Zhihong Luo, Devon Greene, Alec Coleman and Jacqueline Lemaire.
