WAKEFIELD — Fifteen-year-old Alex Celico of Westerly will play the role of Horton the Elephant in Rhode Island Youth Theatre’s production of 'Seussical, Jr.!' which opens this weekend at the Prout School auditorium.

An elephant who talks to a dust speck? A bird with a one feathered tail? A cat in a hat? Anything is possible when your favorite Dr. Seuss stories are all wrapped into one fantastic tale in Rhode Island Youth Theatre’s production. Shows are July 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. at the Prout School, 468 Tower Hill Rd.,in Wakefield.

Rhode Island Youth Theatre, formerly known as Fantasy Works, is an award-winning, non-profit, youth theater company now in its 32nd year of operation.  The company provides opportunities for children and teens to "create, perform and experience," exceptional theatre.

Directed by Chelsea Cook, Connor Buonaccorsi serves as musical director for "Seussical, Jr.!," Ann O’Grady and Liz Paolella are production managers, and Norma Malachowski is company manager.
