STONINGTON— Fusion, that much-anticipated celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts where local artists use paints to decorate the bodies of live guest models, returns for its seventh season Friday night at the Velvet Mill Studios in Stonington Borough.

A popular crowd-pleaser since the very first celebration, Fusion attracts revelers from far and wide who are dazzled by the body painting, music and menu. Guests will sample beer and wine from area breweries and vineyards, all while enjoying culinary specialties offered by local eateries.

Sponsored by the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce, the popular and unique event showcases the Velvet Mill, highlights local artists and is also a joint fundraiser for the business organizations who recognize and promote the arts as an important partner in the region’s economy, according to Erica Agnello, the chamber's event coordinator.

"The focal point of the evening will be live body painting on models that push the boundaries of artistic creativity and design," Agnello said in a statement.

People interested in being artists or models for Fusion can contact Agnello at 401-596-7761 or send email to events@oceanchamber.org.
