CHARLESTOWN — Rhiannon Giddens of Carolina Chocolate Drops fame is among the performers who will headline the 23rd annual Rhythm & Roots Festival, set for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4, 5 and 6.
Also confirmed for the line-up are Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, Donna the Buffalo, Tami Neilsen and Richard Thompson. Early bird tickets for the popular music festival are now on sale for the event, which will return to the former schedule of beginning the music at 5 p.m. on Friday, with bands performing on the main stage and dance tent and gates opening at 4 p.m. Ticket prices have been adjusted to reflect the shorter day.
The Saturday and Sunday schedule will remain the same as in the past. Festival hours are Friday 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturday and Sunday 12 p.m. to midnight. Music begins at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
