STONINGTON — Soprano Constance Rock, hailed for her effortless high notes and riveting voice, will headline a concert of songs by Schubert, Barber, Mahler and Mozart at Calvary Church Stonington Sunday at 3 p.m., to benefit the Calvary Music School.

Rock, who enjoys a diversified career as a performer and teacher, has performed as Gilda in Verdi’s "Rigoletto," Violetta in Verdi’s"La Traviata," Pamina in Mozart’s "Die Zauberflöte," Constanze in Mozart’s "Die Entführung aus dem Serail," and Lucia in Donizetti’s "Lucia."

"This concert will be a wonderful opportunity for local classical music lovers to enjoy extraordinary singing," said Matthew Provost, artistic director of the Calvary Music School. "We are very excited about our guest recitalist and especially, as we are a music school, her role as teacher. I've known Connie for many years, and working with her in the past has always been sheer joy.

Rock will bring two of her star pupils to perform along with her, Provost said.
