WESTERLY — Have a favorite Shakespeare sonnet? Read it aloud to fellow fans of the Bard Tuesday when the Colonial Theatre of Rhode Island hosts a Shakespeare Celebration at the Westerly Library from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Jon L Peacock and Alana Rader, the Colonial's co-artistic directors of education said they want to continue the tradition of having "people about town" read some of Shakespeare's sonnets during the celebration.

"In past years we've asked for them to be memorized," Rader said, "but this year we're more relaxed."

Readers need only familiarize themselves with a sonnet and then come prepared to read beginning at around 5:30 p.m.

For people searching for a sonnet, the co-directors suggest visiting stagemilk.com/best-shakespeare-sonnets for suggestions.

In addition to the sonnet readings, a birthday cake will be served, activities will organized for children and adults and members of the company, including students  from the theater's camps, will present scenes and monologues.
