Miss R.I., Teen counterpart visit scholarship sponsor

Miss Rhode Island and Miss Rhode Island Outstanding Teen stopped by Miss Rhode Island scholarship program sponsors Zoe & Co. Professional Bra Fitters in downtown Westerly Tuesday night to say hello. The ladies did a small meet-and-greet and then did some shopping. “We were excited to have them and wish them success at the Miss America Pageant and in their future endeavors,” said store owner Bruce Prescott. Miss America provides opportunities for young women to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community. Miss America contestants working toward college or postgraduate degrees can earn scholarship awards to help further their education. The Miss America Organization is the nation’s leading provider of scholarships for young women, awarding millions annually in cash awards and in-kind tuition waivers.
