Lyman tops Wheeler


LEBANON, Conn. — Nicole Monce scored the first and last goal in Lyman Memorial’s 4-0 girls’ soccer victory against Wheeler High Tuesday.

Monce scored with 9 minutes left in the first half of the ECC Small Division game and with 16 minutes left in the second half.

Lyman (8-2-2, 6-1 ECC-Small) beat Wheeler 5-1 earlier in the season.

The Bulldogs had 18 shots and three corner kicks. Wheeler (4-7, 2-5 ECC-Small) had three shots and one corner.

Jess Muller made 13 saves for the Lions.

Wheeler’s next game is Thursday at home against Tourtellotte, at 4 p.m. The game will be followed by a boys’ game against Tourtellotte at 6 p.m.
