Stefanski finishes 44th at Wickham

MANCHESTER, Conn. — Wheeler High’s Troy Stefanski finished 44th in the unseeded race at the Wickham Park Invitational Saturday.

He was Wheeler’s top finisher as the Lions placed 21st in their race.

Stefanski was timed across the 3.1 miles in 18:34. Max Reck was right behind in 54th with a time of 18:46. Fifty teams participated in the race. Wheeler finished ahead of ECC teams such as Waterford (24th), Lyman Memorial (34th), Bacon Academy (46th) and Montville (50th). Scituate won the race.

Rounding out the Wheeler scoring was freshman Anton Smith (93rd, 19:16); Billy Grigg (231st, 20:37) and Henry Smith (271st, 21:00).

The Lions will compete in the ECC Championship race 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Norwich Golf Course.
