Burr places 15th at N.E. meet


BOSTON — Westerly High’s Jackie Burr finished 15th in the 2-mile run at the New England indoor track championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center Saturday.

Burr covered the distance in 11 minutes, 31.96 seconds.

Westerly’s 4x800 relay team of Charlotte Andrus, Liz Orr, Sarah Garvey and Julie Senior finished 25th in 10:20.48.

Chariho’s 4x800 boys’ relay team of Alden Andrea, Jung Kim, Mitchell Carrier and Andrew Sardelli placed 17th in 8:29.12.

Chariho’s Kyle Kirby also competed in the high jump, but did not clear a height.

The Chariho and Westerly athletes qualified as a result of their finishes at the Rhode Island state meet.
