WESTERLY — Phil Miguel, Logan Hellwig and Bennett Lanni each won two individual events and swam legs on two victorious relays to lead the Westerly High boys’ swimming team to a 66-28 victory over Lincoln Monday.
Westerly improved to 1-2, 1-1 Division II. Lincoln fell to 2-1, 2-1 Division II.
Miguel won the 50 freestyle (24.91) and 100 freestyle (56.56). Hellwig took first in the 200 individual medley (2:17.64) and 100 backstroke (1:00.21). Lanni was the winner in the 200 freestyle (2:10.80) and 500 freestyle (6:13.37). Mark Walker also claimed first in an individual event, setting a personal record in the 100 butterfly (1:01.93).
Westerly’s 200 medley relay of Alex Gomes, Hellwig, Walker and Miguel won in 1:55.96. The 200 free relay of Gomes, Hellwig, Miguel and Lanni prevailed in 1:41.13. The 400 free relay of Lanni, Walker, Mark Fidrych and Callum Gunn won in 4:05.45.
Another Westerly 400 free relay team (Ryan Bartholomew, Alex Toscano, Zach Hyman and Tom Toscano) took second in 4:42.03.
Gomes added two individual seconds with a personal best of 1:15.42 in the 100 breaststroke, and a 2:26.52 in the 200 IM. Alex Toscano added a second in the 500 freestyle (7:16.13), and Walker a second in the 100 backstroke (1:05.93).
Gunn added a PR with a third-place finish in the 50 free (25.88) as well a third in the 100 free (59.8). Tom Toscano was third in the 200 free (2:31.51).
The 200 medley relay team of Alex Toscano, Fidrych, Gunn and Tom Toscano was third in 2:23.04. The 200 free relay of Hyman, Fidrych, Gunn and Alex Toscano was third in 1:55.57.
Westerly is off until hosting Portsmouth Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
WESTERLY — Erika Rohdin won the 100 freestyle (1:01.01) and 100 breaststroke (1:19.84) to highlight Westerly’s effort in a loss to Lincoln Monday.
Westerly fell to 0-2-1, 0-2-1 Division II. Lincoln improved to 4-0, 4-0 Division II.
Danielle Gilluly claimed an individual first place for Westerly in the 200 freestyle (2:18.01) as did Catherine Labriola in the 100 backstroke (1:12.88).
The Bulldogs claimed a number of individual second-places: Margo Douglas in the 100 butterfly (personal best 1:12.9); Danielle Gilluly in the 500 freestyle (6:18.70) and Chelsea Fox in the 50 free (28.6) and 100 free (1:04.17).
Kellie Gilluly was third in the 200 IM (2:42.60), and Olivia Bertino was third in the 500 free (6:58.75).
Westerly’s 400 free relay team of Douglas, Danielle Gilluly, Rohdin and Fox was second in 4:18.78.
The 200 free relay of Danielle Gilluly, Kellie Gilluly, Fox and Rohdin was second in 1:55.17).
The 200 medley relay of Melita Seibel, Kellie Gilluly, Labriola and Douglas was third in 2:18.6. The 200 free relay of Bertino, Labriola, Seibel and Lani Kopperman placed third in 2:07.92.
Also placing third was the 400 free relay of Bertino, Seibel, Katia Pride and Tatiana Trebisacci.
Westerly returns to action 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at home against Narragansett.
