Middle school: Gates plays key role in Bulldogs’ baseball win

WESTERLY — Taber Gates pitched a complete-game four-hitter and added two RBI singles Monday to key the Westerly Middle School baseball team’s 4-2 league win over Curtis Corner.

Gates walked just two batters and allowed one earned run for the Bulldogs, who improved to 6-1, 5-0 Southern Division. Austin Frink reached base three times on an RBI single, walk and hit by pitch.

Curtis Corner fell to 1-4, 1-4.

Westerly plays at Chariho Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
