Aldrich, Luzzi score in Westerly U-11 victory


WESTERLY — Garrison Aldrich and Ben Luzzi scored a goal apiece to help Westerly’s under-11 boys’ competitive soccer team to a 2-1 win over South County at the Gingerella Sports Complex.

Westerly’s assists came from Joseph Guarnieri and Luke Gencarella. The defensive standouts were Cameron Jakob, Sam Elliott and Guarnieri.

WESTERLY — Michael Imbriglio scored Westerly’s only goal in Saturday’s season opener.

Aiden Faubert was credited with an assist. Davide Allen, Sean Rafferty and Blake Busch stood out on defense and Chas Morgan was Westerly’s goalie.

WARWICK — Jaclyn Fusaro scored Westerly’s only goal, assisted by Gia Keegan.

Nina Cillino was Westerly’s defensive standout. Mackenzie Fusaro and Emma Keegan shared time in goal for Westerly.

WESTERLY — Carter Danto was Westerly’s goalkeeper in the scoreless tie and Dylan Fister was Westerly’s defensive standout.

J.P. Gencarella led Westerly’s offense.

WESTERLY — Kamerin Foberg scored a pair of goals in the tie.

Tyler Rafferty and Jack Olson scored a goal apiece for Westerly. Rafferty and Foberg were credited with an assist apiece.

Travis Costa and Griffin Aldrich were Westerly’s top defensive players.

Westerly trailed 2-1 at the half.

MIDDLETOWN — Julia Mastrandrea, Chiara Andrews and Alex Gencarelli each scored a goal for Westerly.

Mastrandrea assisted one goal in the win and Tessa Kluver recorded five saves in goal. Jillian Octeau led Westerly’s defense.
