Three Chargers victorious at JV states

CUMBERLAND — Chariho Middle’s Ryan Ahern (96 pounds), Jordan Kelvington (112) and Dylan Cabral (148) each posted 4-0 records to win individual titles at the Middle School junior varsity state wrestling tournament Saturday.

Joe Heath (126) and Ryan Gamelin (82) were 4-1 as both Chariho wrestlers finished second in their weight class. Taking thirds were Teddy Champlin (82) and Joe Stanfield (96). Devin Shaw (159), Steven Knott (119) and Josh Smithey (96) each registered fourth places.

Wrestlers who finished in the top three qualified for the varsity state tournament next weekend at Cumberland High.
