Softball: Danny’s clinches spot in Final Four


WESTERLY — Danny’s Bar/The Haversham clinched a spot in the Final Four of the Westerly Men’s Softball League with a 12-5 win against Hilltop Cafe on Friday at Craig Field

Kyle Smith homered, drove in two runs and finished with three hits for Danny’s (15-5). Luke Raiche was 4 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Anthony Pascuzzi finished 3 for 4 with a double.

Steve Williams drove in two runs and was 3 for 3 for Hilltop (12-7). Earl Whitford was 2 for 3 with a double.

Jeff Collins hit two home runs and drove in three runs for Apice (18-1).

Keegan Reed was 3 for 3 with a homer, double and two RBIs. Apice has already qualified for the Final Four and leads Blackout (15-3) in the battle for the top seed.

Tony Patterson hit a solo homer for Affordable Furnishings (6-14).

McQuade’s Marketplace/The Brazen Hen............. 15

Erik Lindewall was 4 for 4 with a homer and four RBIs for McQuade’s.

Adam Falcone and Mike Keemon finished with three hits each. Falcone doubled, tripled and drove in two runs. Keemon doubled and drove in a pair. McQuade’s is 12-7.

Vincent Urso and Brian Howard both went 2 for 3 for Hilltop (12-8). Howard doubled and drove in two runs.

The Hilltop loss assured Lucky House of a spot in the Final Four.

Gus Brucker drove in seven runs, homered and doubled helping Lucky House to the win on Wednesday.

Brucker finished 5 for 5. Nick DeLauro was also 5 for 5 with a triple and three RBIs. Aaron Bliven finished 4 for 5 with three RBIs. He led off the game with a homer. Lucky House improved to 14-6.

Mike Keemon was 4 for 5 with a homer and four RBIs for McQuade’s (10-7). Andrew McCoy hit a two-run homer and Erik Lindewall was 2 for 3 with a homer and three RBIs.
