  • Gordon champ of SENESGA

    RICHMOND — Ed Gordon is champion of the South Eastern New England Senior Golf Association.

    Gordon shot a 158 for 36 holes, edging Earl Denton by one stroke. The tournament was held the past two Mondays at the par-72 Richmond Country Club.

    Players were placed in flights based on their handicap. Gordon and Denton played in flight A, as did Jack Carson who finished third overall with a 160.

    The flight champions were crowned based on low net scores.

    Jim Murano won flight A with a 137. Robert Reidy and Robert McCorry Jr. tied for second at 138.

    Jim Heffron won flight B with a 135. Dennis Lambert shot 136 taking second.

    Jack Gavitt shot 132 to win flight C and James Ainsworth was second at 140. Eugene Leroy won flight D with a 133, edging David Izzo by two strokes.

    Joseph Dionne shot 130 to win flight E by three shots over Richard Agnitsch. Robert Patton shot a 135 to take flight F and Stephen McAllister was runner-up with a 137.

    There were approximately 25 players in each of the six flights.
