OMV tops Schwab


STONINGTON — Olde Mistick Village won three doubles matches on its way to a 4-2 victory against Charles Schwab in the Stonington Recreation Tennis League on July 9.

Duncan Welsh and John Groton won 10-2, while Timmy Onorato and Don Harrington combined for a 10-7 win. Deb Morehead and Donna Fritz were 10-5 winners.

Nick Raho earned a singles win for OMV (10-5).

Tom Bovino was a singles winners for Charles Schwab by a 10-5 margin.

Victoria Ferrigno and Juli Brown combined for a 10-9 doubles win for Schwab. The prevailed 7-3 on the tiebreaker.

Avie’s won all three doubles match in the win.

Ken Bengston and Mark Adams combined for a 10-9 win. They won the tiebreaker 7-3. Todd Higgins and Val Rodgers were 10-7 winners and Patty Small and Ginny Raho prevailed 10-0.

Jeff Moorehead won 10-7 in singles.

Stefan Jones earned the point for Majestic in singles, 10-0.
