Adult softball: Vacca helps Lucky House win

WESTERLY — Jody Vacca went 3 for 4 with a double and drove in a run as Lucky House of the Westerly Men’s Softball League defeated Hi Tech Meds of the Stonington league, 15-10 on Thursday.

Bruce Celico and Derek Vacca went 2 for 4 for Lucky House (8-5).

Brian Henry of Hi Tech went 3 for 3 with two doubles and two runs batted in, and Eric Hoadley went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

WESTERLY — Jeff Collins drove in five runs and James Gordon and Ray Cormier knocked in two apiece to lead Apice Builders (12-1) of the Westerly league to a mercy-rule shortened win on Wednesday.

Cormier went 4 for 4 with a double. Gordon was 3 for 4 with a homer, and Collins was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double.

John Dettore was 2 for 2 with a RBI for NLC of the Stonington league.

WESTERLY — Mark Anderson and Ryan Hellert had three hits as McQuade’s Marketplace/Brazen Hen of the Westerly league won Tuesday’s game against Gringo’s of the Stonington league.

Anderson went 3 for 4 with a double and drove in two runs while Hellert went 3 for 3. Mike Keemon also drove in two runs for the winners, who improved their record to 7-5. he had two hits in four at-bats including a home run.

Craig D’Ortona was 2 for 3 for Gringo’s.

WESTERLY — Jason Croteau hit a game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning as Danny’s Bar/The Haversham (10-4) knocked off Blackout (11-2) in a Westerly league game Tuesday.

Luke Raiche went 2 or 3 with three RBIs, and Kevin Cobleigh was 2 for 4 with a triple for the winners.

Ron Sposato was 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Blackout, and Chris Leday was 2 for 4 with a solo homer.

WESTERLY — Blackout bounced back with a win Tuesday as Kevin Maguire and Sposato drove in five runs.

Sposato hit two homers during a 3 for 4 night. Maguire went 4 for 4 with a homer and a double. Jerry Cook was 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Blackout (12-2).

Kyle Potter and Steve Francis went 2 for 2 for Davis Standard/Angie’s Pizza (3-9). Potter knocked in two runs.
